9 Holes and 10 Years

Last Friday Sean and I celebrated our 10 year Anniversary!  We wanted to be in Hawaii but were not able to go in May so our trip is planned for June.  We decided to both take the day off from work anyways and spend some time together.  Time together, with no kids?  Weird!  That does not happen very often so we didn't quite know what to do.  I don't think I have golfed since we had Gar so I suggested we go and play nine holes.   Sean was a little surprised but he didn't seem to have a problem with that.  I of course was very rusty and need to go play more often but I had a great time and the weather was beautiful that day.

We usually say "I love you" to each other every day but I hope Sean knows how much I truly love him.  You are the best friend, husband and absolute best father to our two beautiful children.  You often joke around with me that you are "Father/Husband of the Year" but you really are in my eyes.  You step in and help with whatever I am needing help with, most the time without being asked.  You have a work ethic that sets an example to our children and I hope they both emulate.  Our yard is immaculate, garage organized and the cars are always well maintained.  Not to leave out a vacuumed and dusted house weekly.  Life is certainly sweet with you in it!

Here are some pictures that I have scanned of the two of us over the years

Wow, time flies when you are having fun!  And I hope we have 10, 20, 30 , 40 more.....years to come

p.s.   I don't think a day goes by that I don't laugh with you, I do think you are funny!

So Sweet

I was standing in the kitchen on Monday and Gar came in and handed me this note.  He asked me if I could read it and I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I hesitated trying to think of something to say but before I could he read it to me.  How cute is that, my first note from Gar!

After months of worrying......over nothing!  Especially after her 6 month dr appointment I thought this was going to be dramatic again but she only cried for less than a minute and she was over it.

Hot Mommas

I'm a little late in posting this but to all the Hot Mommas in my life "Happy Mother's Day!"

Reflecting back to growing up I couldn't have asked for anything more in a mom. She was always there and would do anything for us (this extended to our friends also). She taught me how to be the best I could and I hope I have done her proud! My favorite memories growing up often include my Mom......sitting in class at Granite Elementary you could always count on my mom to go jogging by the windows. Every Saturday morning my mom would vaccuum, always running into our bedroom doors to wake us up. Occassionally she would venture into our rooms which always ended up with an awful shrieking noise as our socks were eaten by the vaccuum. The many hours she spent coaching our softball teams (remember that time she was showing how to swing the bat and she hit me in the head?), running us to gymanstics or dance classes. If we were out in the neighborhood playing and she wanted us home she would just yell for us, her voice could carry far! We always had the best birthday parties, especially the one when the monkeys came. I could go on and on.....

I know you have all heard it/and or said it but I truly have one of the best Mom's!

About 5 years ago we weren't thinking of having kids any time soon. Today, I can't think of anything I would rather be doing! I received my first handmade gifts from Gar and Adi this year and I will cherish them always. Although, my manicure/pedicure gift from Sean was quite fabulous.

When life gets crazy I think back to a blog I came across awhile ago, a couple lost their only child to SIDS at 7 months old. The blog was started to document their memory of him and their pain with dealing with the loss. It broke my heart! I now stop more often to enjoy the moments with my kids, good or bad. I miss moments in their lives when I am at work and I feel guilty. But working makes me a better mom and provides them with a better life. I am so grateful that my kids are healthy and happy and I hope I can be as good a mom as my mom is to me.

So when I look around the house and it is a disaster and the laundry is piled sky high I remember that I am busy enjoying the moments with my kids and not worried about what kind of a housekeeper I am.

Chompers

A couple weekends ago, myself, Gar and Adi all came down with a nasty cold. Unfortunately for my Mom and Dad who had come into town on Friday for my nieces bridal shower, they had to listen to us sniff, sneeze and cough for two days (I'm just glad neither one of them caught what we had). When we woke up on Sunday Adi had brought her misery to a whole new level. You could tell she was trying her hardest to give you one of her big smiles but she just wasn't happy. She didn't want to be put down but when you picked her up she was trying to squirm out of our arms. She wanted to drink her bottle but she was all stuffy and she couldn't breathe when she was eating. She only slept for about 20 minutes the whole day so around 6:30 we decided to bump bed time up for her. I had her in the tub and I decided to feel her gums because she had been drooling a lot the last couple of weeks. Sure enough, I could feel that both of her bottom teeth had just come in. Two at once...no wonder why she was so grumpy!

She's now back to her happy go lucky self.......until the next tooth decides to make an appearance
