Walks like a duck.....

No, I'm not talking about how my feet turn out and it looks like I walk like a duck but something much more adorable. Last night in the tub Adi came across a rubber ducky in her basket of tub toys and the next thing I know I hear her say "wack, wack" and she keeps repeating it. Most days I can't get her to say Mom (okay, who am I kidding, I can't ever get her to say mom) but why the hell would she be okay talking like a duck?

Does anyone remember when Gar was little and he'd get that really low voice and quack like a duck? Soooo cute, now he just talks back, not soooo cute!

Phineas and Ferb

Months and months ago Sean called me and told me he wanted to order something called "Grow a Frog". I was not excited by this at all! He went against my better judgement and ordered it anyways. It showed up a little while later and with it was a coupon to mail back to get the tadpole sent to you. We mailed it back but due to the warmer weather they wouldn't mail it until the temperature were in the 70's. For some reason in September they decided to mail the tadpole to us and not tell us that they did. For most people it's probably not a problem but in our neighborhood we have a community mailbox and we struggle to pick up the mail in any regularity. When we did get the mail and saw that the tadpole had arrived it was too late....I'm pretty sure due to the heat it exploded, ooops! I thought we were over it but for some reason this month Sean got some hair brained idea that they would go to the pet store and pick up a replacement tadpole. Before Sean and Gar left the house I warned Sean not to come home with anything but a tadpole and was assured they wouldn't. An hour or so later they got home and we had ourselves new frogs.....what the?!?!?!?! And they eat live crickets!! And you have to fill their tank with chemically treated water every 2-3 days......And that water needs to be about 80 degrees.......

Sean started his new job this past week which requires travel....if anyone feels pity on Phineas and Ferb and wants to feed them while he is gone please stop on by because I refuse to be apart of this mess

Festival of Trees, Dec. 3rd 2009

Gar's "Hip Hop" crew danced at the Festival of Trees this year. It was one of the cutest thing I have seen all year! I was so nervous for him and all he could ask is "when do I get to dance on the big stage?". I thought for sure he would see all the people watching and just freeze up but he was in his element. The kids were all dressed the same with their hoods on so we couldn't tell who was who. I finally spotted him by his shoes........he's the 3rd from the right on the back row. He does his cartwheel about 2:58 in and does his solo about 5:17 Can't wait for the next performance! Sorry for the motion sickness and their bodies being cut off at one point

Gobble Gobble!

Gar is thankful for....

1. His sister
2. Sleeping in his fort
3. His animals and toys

So simple and so meaningful!

I couldn't let the holiday pass without sharing what I am most grateful for. First and foremost I am the most grateful for my family. I am so extremely thankful for my two beautiful and healthy children, they are the lights of my life! I have an amazing husband that just keeps getting better with age! I have a roof over my head, food in my cupboards and the freedom we have to enjoy it all!

HaPpY HaLlOwEeN!!

What a busy month we've had! We went to the pumpkin patch on 90th South with the Bartholowmew's and picked out our pumpkins and than the kids went and picked out their costumes for the big day.

We did our pumpkin carving at The Milne Manor........nothing like power tools to carve those pumpkins!

The following weekend we went to The Milne Manor again for their Annual Halloween Party! What a blast! There was a game of pin the wart on the witch, a real magician, the mummy wrap, pinata and the adults had to find a piece of bubblegum in a bowl of whip cream and be the first to blow a bubble. Thanks Uncle Tom and Aunt Carey!

We had a girls (Kim, Sue, Carey, Kaley, Steph and I) night out and we went to Witchapalooza. I'm pretty sure we'll make it an another annual tradition. It was so much fun!

And here's our cute Trick or Treaters, Gar and Sam loved it this year!

Bring on Thanksgiving.......

Gu - Gu - Gu......STUBBORN

At daycare they started their preschool curriculum back in September. At the beginning of every month they send home a Newsletter of what they will be learning and at the end of the month they send home a Report card to let us know how much they learned. Their system is check+ or a check. We received his report this week and I quickly checked how he did, when I got to the last 2 categories I noticed that he had only gotten checks. I was a little shocked but quickly started giggling, he had received checks in Singing along with the group and Making hand actions while singing. Hmmmm, sounds like my Gar and I'm pretty sure he'll never get check+'s in this category, ever! Unless you're a fly on the wall in his bedroom and he's zipped up in his tents safety where he thinks no one can hear him. Yes, the tent is back and he's been sleeping in it the past couple of weeks. I wonder how long it will last this time?

In the past couple of months Gar has learend to identify letters and associate them with words. He'll be walking around the house going Ca - Ca - Ca CAT. The other day I could hear him and I can't remember the exact word but he was all Gu - Gu - Gu Door. I tried to correct him and sounded out Du - Du - Du Door only to be told "No, that isn't right!". And just to prove his point he walked around saying Gu - Gu - Gu Door the rest of the night.

The following day he was playing with a toy and because ALL toys nowadays have to make noise there is a switch on the front of it that has On and Off written on it. He asked me if O F F said off and I replied it did, than he asked me does Zero N mean On. I said no, it's Oh N and that read On. Only to be followed with "No mom, it's a zero".

Can you say S. T. U. B. B. O. R. N.!! Wonder where he gets that from!?!

BiRtHdAy GiRl

What a Year! In this short time you have managed to wrap the whole family around your little finger. You scream, we jump. You cry, we all try to figure out how to help you. You laugh, we all laugh with you. Your smile is infectious and lights up the room! Garrison completely adores you and you adore him and as a mother there is nothing greater than that!

About two months ago you came crawling out of your room with something in your mouth, when you got closer to me I realized it was a pacifier you had found in your toy box. That and a blanket (aka burp cloth or Uncle Jimmer calls it a dish rag) have been your constant companions ever since. As with your brother (and cousin Ella) you have become obsessed with the tag on your blanket. I just smile every time I hand you your blanket and you have to immediately put the tag in your hand or mouth. You've also found a new freedom this past month with learning how to walk. I am constantly stepping on Cheerios that are magically appearing EVERYWHERE!

I know this year will be just as fun growing with you and watching more of your personality and quirks come out.

Happy Birthday Princess Poo Poo Face!

*that's what Gar and I call you when you are having a moment. Gar cracks up everytime because what 4 year old doesn't like to say poo?!?! and this usually gets us all laughing again*

Try not to be jealous.....

Seriously, August and September flew by and I didn't get much blogging in. I just came upstairs to back up my phone to the computer and I found some pictures that Gar had taken. They cracked me up so I thought I would share.

Sean had a softball tournament in Wendover the first part of September. The kids and I didn't have much going on so we decided to tag along with him so we pulled the trailer down to the KOA. Wow, it's as fabulous as you would expect it to be! We are still laughing about it

Our little slice of heaven.....are you jealous?

Biker Dude

The week we got back from Strawberry Gar wanted to take the training wheels off his bike. We decided to go ahead and let him try it to see how he would do.

Sean was holding the back of the bike for him to get him steady and explaining to Gar what he needed to do. The next thing he knew he just took off! No help, no running behind him he just set off down the sidewalk. Well that was easy!

Hip Hop Horray

At daycare they have a dance studio that comes in once a week and offer classes to the kids. I didn't think much about it since Adi can't walk, much less dance and Sean would probably keel over if I signed Gar up. A couple weeks ago one of the directors asked me if Gar would want to go try the Hip Hop class for free, they had just changed the class from Friday to Tuesday to see if more kids would sign up. I left it up to Gar and of course his immediate response was no, shocker! I didn't push the subject with him and I just mentioned to his teacher that when his friends left to go to class that if Gar wanted to go to please send him. I got home that night and just casually asked him if he went and what he thought. He said he had gone to the class, I figured he might when all his friends were going, and that it was fun. I asked him to show me what he had learned but he didn't want to (he did want to but he has to do these things on his terms) so I stopped paying attention and all of a sudden.........he started busting out all his moves. I'm pretty sure he free styled a lot of the moves but some of them I could tell they had showed him, like a back spin! The next morning Lindsay showed me a video she had taken of the class, So Cute!! Sean will probably kill me for saying his boy was cute dancing but he is and I can't think of a better word. And honestly, who doesn't love a boy that can dance?
*sorry the images are blurry, I had to take them through a window*

Sneak Peak

I can't express how excited I am about these pictures! Andrea emailed me one of the shots yesterday and there I was sitting at my desk at work crying. They are that good!! We are going back again this week for more shots, Adi was having a bad day for the first shoot, but I wanted to share what we have done already.

Three little Pigs

I am not one of those happy glowy pregnant persons and newborns scare that crap out of me! So to many it is no surprise that Adi is our last baby. I have not once thought about how sad it is that I will never experience this again, in fact I look forward to every day that Adi (and Gar) grow and hit new milestones. Until last week........It hit me like a ton of bricks. I went to pick Adi up from daycare and the cute girls had put her hair into 3 piggers (pigtails).
So Dang Freaking Cute!!
I'm not sad that I will never experience those things again but I'm sad that time is flying by so quickly! She is not my newborn baby anymore.....she is almost a toddler

Strawberry

This past weekend was our Annual trip to Strawberry Reservoir and we had a blast! We were all so excited to use the new trailer that we weren't going to let the crappy weather stop us from going. Many phone calls to my Dad later we had the trailer loaded up on Friday and we were ready to go. We met my brother and his family on the freeway around Lehi and headed up Provo Canyon (we might have missed our exit because we were distracted by some dumb girl driving in the carpool lane while a cop was flashing his lights and siren trying to get her to pull over and she wouldn't get over because she didn't want to cross the solid line.....DUH!).

The weather wasn't that bad when we got there so we were able to have a fire for a little bit and than the winds picked up.

The next day was cold, windy and rainy. We had to spend most of our time in the trailer so we played a little Gin Rummy. About mid afternoon the sun poked out so we hurried and loaded up and went Crawdad fishing for the boil that night.
Cousin Jakers striking his usual pose

Adi is strapped in so she'll stay out of mischief! We are in so much trouble when this little one can walk, she is a busy little girl!
Aunt Carey taught Gar how to peel potatoes and he spent a good hour or two just peeling one after another. He loved it!
Our Redneck feast..........Delicious!
We can't wait to go again next year! Hopefully the Bartholomew's can fit us into their busy schedule next year, you were missed!

*Thanks Tom for all your tutorials! You would think with all the trailers we had growing up I would know a thing or two but sadly all I know is how to check the "damn bubble" to make sure we are level.*
