Camping Fairies

These special fairies only come out at dusk when you are camping and they only visit if all the kids have been good campers. They secretly leave prizes all over camp for you to find with your flashlight. The kids LOVE it!!

Last night I was in Garrison's room helping him get his stuff together to go camping this weekend. Gar stopped and asked me if the Camping Fairies were going to come this trip? I had to hurry and think of something and the best I came up with is that they wouldn't because they are friends with Grandma Hardy and we wern't camping with them this weekend. Whew, crisis averted! We went back to filling his basket and I left his room. A couple minutes Gar came out and said he knew why the fairies were only friends with Grandma "because she is so nice to all kids, she probably even reads the fairies stories and gives them prizes!" Comments like these are priceless

I had been thinking maybe I could bring the "fairies" to camp this weekend but I'm going to leave this special activity as Grandma Hardy's. Looks like we'll need to make plans for camping with them soon!

Disneyland - Part 2

Did I mention the weather? Beautiful the whole time, 70's during the day and all you needed was a sweatshirt at night. The sun makes my heart feel good. And Saturday begins.......

Don't let that smile fool you....there is a reason we labeled our stroller as pouty!

One face painting and Pluto hat later we were beginning to turn our frown upside down. We ran into Sulley from Monsters Inc. and Gar was in heaven.

Hey, where'd he go?

*Gar's favorite rides: The Tower of Terror, Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Toy Story Mania. The kid is fearless!
*Adi's favorite rides: her stroller
I just loved watching them experience Disney for the first time!
They both loved the bunk beds in the hotel room

Boo! Time to go home

We love you Grandma and Grandpa!! Thank you for coming with us and being part of our fun (and putting up with us for 4 days). Now, let's do some camping!

DiSnEyLaNd!!!

This year we decided to take a family trip to Disneyland. We decided to make it a shorter trip to see how the kids would do so we left on a Friday and came back home on Monday. Since it was a shorter trip we asked Grandma and Grandpa Hardy to come along with us so we could spend some much needed time with them.......and fun times and memories we have!

Gar and Adi checking out the planes, neither one of them had been on a plane before

Preparing for takeoff

They were both so good on the plane and Adi acted like an angel (I had nightmares of her screaming the whole time)

First ride.....the carousel

Unfortunately, shortly after this ride it all went down hill.......Gar had one of his tummy episodes and we had to leave the park after less than two hours of being there. We went back to the hotel to get some medicine and to let him sleep so this is what I did the rest of the day, watch Adi go up and down the stairs! Have I mentioned that there are two places she will sleep, home and daycare. I'm beginning to think, what were we thinking?!?! But the weather was beautiful so I couldn't complain!
We woke up Saturday and were determined not to spend another minute in the hotel room so we walked over to the park and rented Gar a stroller.

We got a signature from Pluto....Adi was not amused!!

and than some more of this..........poor guy! I slept up in his bunk bed with him and he tossed and turned ALL night, he wasn't doing good.

This is where Adi preferred to spend her time, she was not a fan of the rides at all!!! We did quite a few rides and than we headed over to California Adventure. No one had been over there before so I was anxious to go check it out. Gar's heart just wasn't in it so not too long after being there we headed back to the hotel to do some swimming and resting.

Gar loves jumping in.......swimming lessons are a must this year!!

Adi didn't care for the water or having her shoes off! (Hmmmm, at least they aren't moon boots! hahaha)

Diamondbacks

Gar started baseball in April and he was so excited to be playing with his best buddy Sam! He is loving it and would play a game everyday if possible

Easter

HoPpY eAsTeR!!

It started out with a Easter party and Grandma & Grandpa Hardy's house. There was lot of food, Easter egg hunting, stories (Gar loves to listen to grandma's stories!) games and plenty of prizes for all the kids.

Gar and Adi checking out all the eggs they found.
What happened!?! Easter exploded in our front room
Gar coloring eggs

March

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me....... Can't we stay 25 forever!?! Sean and the kids took me to Tepanyaki, yummy! I even got a dinner in with my sisters this month, that definitely doesn't happen enough!!
Next up, St Patrick's Day. We tried to catch some leprechauns at our house so we tried to build a trap. Unfortunately, they got away but left us with Lucky Charms hidden in our dryer and turned our milk green. We'll build bigger and better next year!

Adi's daycare class made t-shirts for St. Patrick's. The front read, No I'm not a Leprechaun and on the back they put their green hand prints.
We had Alex and Ella for a weekend and we were starting to go stir crazy so we took a trip to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. The kids had a blast, I didn't think we would ever get them to leave the sand and water exhibit!!

February

Apparently not much went on in February! I was going through all the pictures we have loaded in the computer and there was just a lot of random pictures. So I thought I would share this one, the kid cracks me up!! I could have sworn there were some Valentine's picture in there but I can't find where I put them. Oh well, not my favorite holiday anyways. Oops

Happy Birthday Dad!

Someone is 5!

Oh Hi Blog!

I have no excuse for my absence and in this absence I have missed something very important. On January 9th a blonde hair, blue eyed little boy we call Gar turned 5 years old! I can't believe just 5 short years ago our world was turned upside down and what a ride it's been!

This year Gar decided to have a party at Classic Fun Center with family and a couple friends from school. What a blast! I could barely keep the kids at the table long enough to eat, open presents and have cake and ice cream.

Happy Birthday Gar Bear!!

Walks like a duck.....

No, I'm not talking about how my feet turn out and it looks like I walk like a duck but something much more adorable. Last night in the tub Adi came across a rubber ducky in her basket of tub toys and the next thing I know I hear her say "wack, wack" and she keeps repeating it. Most days I can't get her to say Mom (okay, who am I kidding, I can't ever get her to say mom) but why the hell would she be okay talking like a duck?

Does anyone remember when Gar was little and he'd get that really low voice and quack like a duck? Soooo cute, now he just talks back, not soooo cute!

Phineas and Ferb

Months and months ago Sean called me and told me he wanted to order something called "Grow a Frog". I was not excited by this at all! He went against my better judgement and ordered it anyways. It showed up a little while later and with it was a coupon to mail back to get the tadpole sent to you. We mailed it back but due to the warmer weather they wouldn't mail it until the temperature were in the 70's. For some reason in September they decided to mail the tadpole to us and not tell us that they did. For most people it's probably not a problem but in our neighborhood we have a community mailbox and we struggle to pick up the mail in any regularity. When we did get the mail and saw that the tadpole had arrived it was too late....I'm pretty sure due to the heat it exploded, ooops! I thought we were over it but for some reason this month Sean got some hair brained idea that they would go to the pet store and pick up a replacement tadpole. Before Sean and Gar left the house I warned Sean not to come home with anything but a tadpole and was assured they wouldn't. An hour or so later they got home and we had ourselves new frogs.....what the?!?!?!?! And they eat live crickets!! And you have to fill their tank with chemically treated water every 2-3 days......And that water needs to be about 80 degrees.......

Sean started his new job this past week which requires travel....if anyone feels pity on Phineas and Ferb and wants to feed them while he is gone please stop on by because I refuse to be apart of this mess

Festival of Trees, Dec. 3rd 2009

Gar's "Hip Hop" crew danced at the Festival of Trees this year. It was one of the cutest thing I have seen all year! I was so nervous for him and all he could ask is "when do I get to dance on the big stage?". I thought for sure he would see all the people watching and just freeze up but he was in his element. The kids were all dressed the same with their hoods on so we couldn't tell who was who. I finally spotted him by his shoes........he's the 3rd from the right on the back row. He does his cartwheel about 2:58 in and does his solo about 5:17 Can't wait for the next performance! Sorry for the motion sickness and their bodies being cut off at one point

Gobble Gobble!

Gar is thankful for....

1. His sister
2. Sleeping in his fort
3. His animals and toys

So simple and so meaningful!

I couldn't let the holiday pass without sharing what I am most grateful for. First and foremost I am the most grateful for my family. I am so extremely thankful for my two beautiful and healthy children, they are the lights of my life! I have an amazing husband that just keeps getting better with age! I have a roof over my head, food in my cupboards and the freedom we have to enjoy it all!
